Ekiti 2026: PDP's Oluyede storms Efon Local Govt Tuesday for campaign rally ahead of June 20 governorship poll

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, is set to visit Efon-Alaaye on Tuesday, May 26, as part of his statewide campaign tour ahead of the June poll.

Oluyede, who recently commenced consultation and campaign visits across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, is expected to lead his campaign train to the ancient town in a bid to mobilise support for his governorship ambition.

The visit, according to Wole Oluyede Campaign Council, forms part of intensified grassroots engagements by the PDP candidate as political activities gather momentum ahead of the crucial governorship poll.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the PDP Chairman of Efon Local Government and Chairman of Ekiti PDP Chairmen, Aare Ajanaku Oluyemi (JP), who expressed confidence in the party’s growing acceptance within the community.

Oluyemi assured the candidate of massive support from the people of Efon-Alaaye, stressing that residents of the town remain committed to delivering overwhelming votes for the PDP in the forthcoming election.

He described Oluyede as a credible and visionary leader with the capacity to reposition Ekiti State through people-oriented policies, programmes and inclusive governance.

As part of activities lined up for the visit, the party's candidate is also expected to pay a courtesy visit to the monarch of the town, the Alaaye of Efon Kingdom, HRM Oba (Dr) Emmanuel Adesanya Aladejare, as part of efforts to seek royal blessings and traditional support from the first-class monarch ahead of the election.

Party supporters and residents of the town are expected to receive the PDP candidate and his entourage during the visit, which party stakeholders believe will further strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilisation drive in Efon Local Government Area.
