June 18 Polls: Ekiti people have made right choice -Afuye

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, comrade Idowu Afuye has said that the people of the state has choose the right candidate by voting the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr Abiodun Oyebanji as the next governor of the state.

He said the overwhelming victory recorded by the party's candidate, Biodun Oyebanji in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Ekiti State as a litmus test of the total rejection of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the electorates across the country.

Afuye in an interview with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, thanked the APC stalwarts in the state for their commitment before, during and after the Saturday gubernatorial poll. 

Speaking on the prospect ahead with Oyebanji as governor in the state, Afuye described the governor-elect as a well-known respected 'Omoluabi', who the Ekiti people will enjoy the dividend of democracy through his in-depth and wealth of experience in every spheres.

Admonishing the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADC), Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle, Afuye said she should go back to her business and think on how she can contribute her quota towards the developmnent of Ekiti. He also enjoyed Engr. Segun Adebayo Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), to take his fate, urging him not to pursue unneccesary litigation as the Ekiti people have spoken through the ballots.

The erstwhile Deputy governorship candidate of ADP described Oyebanji as a thorough breed loyal and typical Ekiti man who will steer the ship of Ekiti So to the next harbour because of his sterling qualities, experiences and perseverance so far both in politics and otherwise.
