Ekiti Election Update : Massive Turn Out of Voters As SDP Alleged APC Of Vote Buying
...It is false says APC
The Ongoing Guber Election in Ekiti is already reaching a climax as political parties are jostling for votes from the electorates.
A visit by the media team to Ise, Emure and Ikere local government confirmed the election to be going on peacefully and in orderly manner.
INEC officials and security agents were seen conducting the exercise even though the Bimodal machine malfunctioned in some areas.
According, to some of the voters who spoke with this correspondent, people trooped out as early as 7:30 a.m to exercise their civic responsibility.
In Emure Ekiti ward 6 unit 9 to be precise Mrs Cecilia a chieftain of the Peopl Democratic Party alleged the All Progresives Congress of vote buying and inducing members of the SDP to vote for the APC.
She lamented the position of the security agencies who she claimed looked on with making an attempt to stop them.
Hon. Adelugba representing the Emure constituency affirmed that the exercise was going on peacefully despite the Bimodal machine malfunctioning initially.
For Captain Sunday Adebomi of the APC, he dismissed the claims of Mrs Cecelia while absolving the APC of trying to induce voters.
" You can see for yourself the exercise is peaceful so far and no trouble reported in any quarters.
If the SDP is allegeding any hanky panky then it is done by them" he concluded.
Meanwhile Dr. Wole Oluyede contesting on the platform of the ADC has described the election as far from being fair.
He alleged that some of his supporters were arrested and whisked away by security agents on the instruction of the government while he also expressed his disappointment over the numerous instances of vote buying.
" I am not disappointed it is the people who will later regret if they make the wrong choices"
Also the former deputy governor of Ekiti under the PDP Prof. Kolapo Olusola said the election is by far fair by his own assessment and that no vote buying took place in his polling unit. He however refused to make any comment concerning his next line of action following the fall out of his withdrawal from the senator race while affirming that he still remains a bonafide member of the PDP.
