Many pupils and other residents were seen trekking the long distances to their various destinations. Some of the people  who spoke to newsmen lamented what they described as intentional punishment from the government and the state transport unions.

In the words of Mrs Oloyede a mother of two, she said: I am not happy with what happened today, if they won't allow taxis to work why not declare a public holiday so we don't have to go through this unecessary stress"

A Taxi driver who simply gave his name as Wale said it was the instruction of the union which has set aside the day for a very important  meeting of the association.

But some residents hinged the suspension of cabs and Napep operations on the official declaration of an APC Aspirant Engineer Kayode Ojo who officially declares his intention to run for the position of the governor on the platform of the ruling party today.

The All Progressives Congress will hold her primaries on the 27th of October 2025  which has already sent the state into tensed political situations.
