Oyebanji is the only credible candidate in APC the rest are unkown to Ekiti people says Hon. Sunday Ibitoye

The governor of Ekiti state Biodun Oyebanji has been touted to win the All Progressives Congress guber primaries scheduled for the 27th of October 2025 with a lanslide victory.

An APC Cheiftain Honorable Sunday Ibitoye speaking to journalists in Ado Ekiti said the party structure, Excos and the concerned authorities are solidly behind the candidacy of Biodun Oyebanji whom he describes as God sent to the people of Ekiti State.

 He maintained that governor Oyebanji has performed creditably well which has informed the gale of endorsements from public and private stakeholders in the state. He dismissed the insinuations that the heavy military presence in the past few days was related to the coming of a particular candidate whose presence has never being felt at the party level and the residents of Ekiti.

" When Fayose wanted to take over from Niyi Adebayo, he was everywhere in Ekiti  his presence was felt in all the 16 local governments of the state. This person you are referring to is not a serious contender and as a matter of fact the presence of military, police and other security personnels is part of the efforts in making our dear state safe and secured it has nothing to do with somebody coming into the state" he noted.

When asked of the chances of the governor in the forthcoming primaries, Hon. Sunday expressed optimism ahead of the exercise and maintained that no candidate can defeat the incumbent except such governor has erred.

" It is very rare to witness such in Nigeria politics that an incumbent governor will lose a primary election such cases is very rare and that can't happen now because all the stats favour the governor.

Our governor is a darling of Mr. President  i can tell you the President loves the governor even at the state level the APC leadership went round all the 16 local governments to inspect all the projects of Mr. Governor and they gave a very satisfying verdict which shows the governor has carried everybody along in the party so if anybody is saying otherwise then such person is far from reality"

According to him, governor Oyebanji has put Ekiti on the global map in terms of Social Infrastructures,Health, Education, Economy Tourism and  Agriculture with the support of Ekiti the mission to continue the good works is paramount.

Honorable Ibitoye Sunday who is the current Chairman Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency (EKSTMA) also highlighted the major achievements of the agency declaring that officers of the agency are now full fledged civil servants of the state.

" This is my second stint here as the chairman of the  traffic management agency and one thing we have done is to rebuild the public trust in the agency.

EKSTMA is no longer an agency that terrorizes the resident, we act more like correctional facility for motorists infact we have brought in members of the Okada riders as part of the board and this has facilitated a good relationship with all the road users in Ekiti"

Honorable Ibitoye was of the opinion that the people of Ekiti now appreciates the agency more as officers are now well trained and well renumerated through the efforts of the state government which has inducted them into the full services after completing their compulsory monthly probation.
