Burial of 110-Year-Old Matriarch: Chief Sola Okebiorun Appreciates Kemisola Elebute Halle, TKO, ICIOS, EBHSOSA, Others



Following the successful burial ceremony of the late Madam Lydia Bosede Okebiorun, who passed on peacefully at the remarkable age of 110, her son, Chief Sola Okebiorun, has expressed profound gratitude to God and to the numerous dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers who made the event memorable.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, Chief Okebiorun described the burial ceremony as a moment of thanksgiving and celebration of a fulfilled life, noting that the overwhelming show of love and solidarity from people across the country and beyond deeply touched him and his family.

According to him, the burial of the revered centenarian was nothing short of a grand celebration, as it attracted prominent personalities from different walks of life who came together to honour the memory and legacy of the late Madam Okebiorun.

Chief Okebiorun particularly expressed heartfelt appreciation to Chief (Dr.) Kemisola Elebute Halle and her husband, Engineer Halle, for their unwavering support before and during the event. He fondly recalled how the couple joyfully joined other guests on the dance floor to celebrate the remarkable life of the late matriarch.

He also extended special gratitude to several distinguished personalities who graced the occasion, including High Chief Tope Aluko (TKO), Chief Adebayo Morakinyo, Pa Oludele Morounkeji, the President of EBHSOSA, Chief Ifelola Oyebade, the President of the International Congress of Ifa and Orisa Spirituality (ICIOS), Ifaniyi Awoyemi, Dr. Adebayo Orire of the ORF, Chief Owolabi, Araba Fasina, Dr. Solola, Rev. Ayo Owolabi of the Baptist Church, and Chief J.K. Ayeni of Havana Hotels.

The appreciative son also thanked the royal fathers who honoured the ceremony with their presence, notably Oba Olarewaju, the Asaba of Ikole Kingdom, and Kabiyesi Temidire Ayeni, the Alayeni of Iperindo in Osun State, alongside other traditional rulers who came to celebrate the life of the departed.

Chief Okebiorun further acknowledged the support of institutions and groups, including officials of the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, directors from the Ministry of Forestry and Livestock, the Silver Jubilee Set of EBHSOSA, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, AIG Sunday Eribo, the Amotekun Corps from Oyo State, Unique Club Igede Ekiti, the Baptist Church and its choirs, the Ogunsua families, the Okebiorun families, as well as the entire people of Igede Ekiti.

Overwhelmed by the massive turnout and goodwill, Chief Okebiorun said it would be difficult to mention everyone who contributed to the success of the burial.

“I am specially indebted to everyone who supported me. People came in large numbers and showed me immense love through financial, moral, and physical support. I cannot thank everyone enough because the list is simply endless,” he said.

He concluded by praying that God, in His infinite mercy, would richly bless and reward everyone who contributed positively to the success of the burial ceremony while continuing to honour the memory of the late Madam Lydia Bosede Okebiorun.
