Ekiti Police Launch Yuletide Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices

In a bid to ensure a safe and crime-free festive season, the Ekiti State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Joseph Eribo, today conducted a sensitization road walk across major streets in Ado-Ekiti. The campaign targets the eradication of cultism, drug abuse, gender-based violence, and other criminal activities.

The initiative aligns with the proactive policing strategies introduced by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, aiming to promote inclusive policing and enhance public safety. Starting at the Command Headquarters, the Police team engaged the public on the dangers associated with criminal vices, encouraging peaceful coexistence during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Speaking during the exercise, CP Joseph Eribo urged residents to reject criminal behaviors, collaborate with law enforcement agencies in combating cultism, maintain vigilance, and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the dedicated hotline 08062335577.

The campaign was organized in partnership with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) to foster community awareness and involvement in crime prevention efforts.
