Ekiti Lawmaker Adegbite Empowers Youths with Digital Skills
In furtherance of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s Six-Point Development Agenda, Hon. Ayodeji Adegbite, Member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly representing Ado-Ekiti Constituency I, has facilitated the empowerment of 80 youths across Ekiti State with critical digital skills through a two-week intensive training programme.
The capacity-building initiative, organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and facilitated by Hon. Adegbite, drew participants from all 16 local government areas of the state, targeting young men and women eager to thrive in the digital economy.
The training focused on in-demand technological competencies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Analysis, and Data Visualisation—skills widely recognised as essential for innovation, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness in today’s knowledge-driven world.
Speaking on the programme, Hon. Adegbite said the initiative aligns with the Ekiti State Government’s commitment to human capital development, youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive economic growth, as outlined in Governor Oyebanji’s development blueprint.
To ensure sustainability and practical application of the knowledge gained, each participant was provided with a laptop to support continuous learning and hands-on engagement beyond the training period.
The beneficiaries are expected to serve as catalysts for digital innovation and technology-driven entrepreneurship within their communities, contributing to economic development and positioning Ekiti State as a growing hub for digital talent
The successful execution of the programme further underscores Hon. Adegbite’s commitment to youth development and reinforces Ekiti State’s place in Nigeria’s evolving digital transformation landscape.
