Former Deputy Speaker Adetunji Orisalade Honoured And Decorated At FESSU Inauguration

A golden fish they say has no hidden place, this is the case of Rt Hon. Orisalade Adetunji Taiwo who was honoured by the newly inaugurated Executives of Federation of Ekiti Students Union(FESSU). The event which took place in Ado Ekiti was witnessed by eminent personalities across the length and breadth of the country. Rt. Hon. Taiwo was celebrated due to his accommodative nature and his continuous support to the union. The philanthropist was born a twin, being part of the second set of twins in the Family, at Ebute-Meta, Lagos on the 17th day of September,1962. His father, Chief Adesegun Olufemi Orisalade of blessed memory and of the Oke-Owa family, being an Omo-Owa (Prince) of the Community was born and raised in Ilogbo-Ekiti, where he grew up before relocating to study and work outside his Native Environment. His parents were devout Christians with strong Christian moral values of compassion, charity, and integrity, which they instilled in all their children. He is happily married to Mrs. Olubunmi Taiwo Orisalade (Nee Johnson) and they are blessed with four beautiful children three Boys and One girl. Hon. Orisalade Adetunji Taiwo began his acquisition of knowledge at St. Judes Primary school, Ebute Metta Lagos, Lagos State where he had his primary Education between 1968 and 1974. He had his Secondary Education at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu-Remo Ogun State between 1974 and 1979. After his Secondary education, he proceeded to the Special Sixth Form College, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State, between 1979 and 1981 for his Advanced Level Studies. Thereafter, he proceeded to the University of Lagos where he obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree LL.B (Hon.) in 1985.

In 1986, after his professional tutelage at the Nigerian Law School,Victoria Island Lagos and earning his Barrister-t-Law Professional Degree, he was called to the Nigerian Bar on October, 17 1986. He attended Courses and sat for the Examinations of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria and was awarded a Certificate as Associate Member of the Institute in 2007. His working career began at the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Alausa, Ikeja Lagos State where he served during his NYSC Years as State Counsel from 1986 to 1987. It is on record that, among his peers then, he was one of the designated Resident State Counsel prosecuting several Criminal Cases on behalf of the Lagos State Government. He was also the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Badagry Lagos State between 2004 and 2008. Rt. Hon. Orisalade Adetunji Taiwo is very active in his community and is involved in several organizations. As a mark of recognition for his leadership ability and immense contributions to the people of his Root, he was called upon by his people to be their Representative on the Political Terrain in Ekiti State. This culminated into his historic election into the Ekiti State House of Assembly on the 23rd day of April 2011. On the 6th day of June, 2011 Rt. Hon. Adetunji Taiwo Orisalade was subsequently further elected by his Colleagues in the Ekiti Sate House of Assembly to a higher Leadership position as the Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly. In recognition of his immense contributions to the Society, Rt. Hon. Orisalade has bagged several Awards to his credit and these include: - FELLOW, Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria 2009. - FELLOW, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria 2011. - Diocese of Ekiti Oke CICERO Award as an Ambassador for Christ at the State Legislature July, 2011. - College of Education Ikere Ekiti Students Union Award of Excellence as OMO AYIYE OF EKITI LAND 4th Sept., 2012. - National Association of Ido/Osi Local Government Students Union (NAIOS) Award of Excellence 24th Sept., 2011. -Law Students Society Faculty of Law, Ekiti State University Distinguished Personality Award 18th Nov., 2012. Federation of Ilogbo-Ekiti Students Union Merit Award. Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (College of Education Ikere Ekiti) Award of Excellence as the Dynamic Law Maker of the Year 2011, 27th Oct., 2011, The Editorial Board of Kayegbo Communications Special Award for Excellence Legislative Performance in Ekiti State House of Assembly, 22nd Dec., 2012. His Hobbies include Travelling, Dancing, Playing Badminton and Writing Poems.
