Ekiti APC Chieftain Accuses Oyebanji, Adaramodu of Orchestrating Son’s Arrest

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Abimbola Olajumoke, has accused Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Yemi Adaramodu, of masterminding the arrest of her son by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Olajumoke, a former aspirant in the APC’s 2026 governorship race, made the allegation in a series of posts on her social media platforms, claiming that a team of RRS operatives stormed her residence and took her son away. She described the action as an abduction and alleged that her son was beaten during the operation, sustaining injuries, and subsequently denied medical treatment.

According to her, the officers were allegedly deployed to her home on the instruction of Governor Oyebanji and Senator Adaramodu, ostensibly to arrest her, but instead apprehended her son.

“Senator Yemi Adaramodu and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji are the masterminds of my son’s illegal abduction from my residence,” she wrote. “They beat up my son and used a mop to clean his blood, and they have refused him medical attention.”

She called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and other prominent leaders of the APC to intervene and ensure the immediate release of her son.

Olajumoke further alleged that Senator Adaramodu targeted her after she accused him of hoarding funds meant for constituency projects in Ekiti South Senatorial District—an allegation the senator has not publicly addressed.

She also linked the incident to her long-running political dispute with the Ekiti State government, noting that she has been openly critical of Governor Oyebanji since her disqualification from the APC governorship primaries. She has described the disqualification as illegal and disclosed that she is currently challenging the eligibility of the governor’s candidacy in court.

But in a swift reaction, the Technical Advisor to the governor on politics Dr. Tai Oguntayo has dismissed the allegations of  Mrs Abimbola of trying to gain unecessary public sympathy over a matter that has nothing to do with the state government.

" Abimbola was my student and i don't want to join  issues with her but she has decided to bring sentiment into the issue regarding her son. The truth is that her son was involved in a fraud case and the person that reported the son did it directly to the police.

And yes we are in court with Abimbola but the state government is not in court with her son. If she feels her son was abducted as she has alleged then let her petition the commissioner of police or the Inspector General of Police and better off go to court instead of trying to bring in sentiment into a case that has nothing to do with the state government."

Akogun noted  that Abimbola was having issues with Senator Yemi Adaramodu over a report she made online and that the Senator has simve comfirmed that the former guber aspirant was in the habit of blackmailing  him. He therefore called on Mrs Abimbola to appraoch the right channel legally to seek redress.

"I am not speaking for the police and who is Abimbola  that the governor will be aressting her son and for what purpose" Akogun queried.
