2027: Isaac Fayose named DG as ADC reps candidate Emmanuel Fayose unveils campaign committee

 The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, Otunba Emmanuel Ajisafe Fayose, has constituted a 25-member campaign committee for his 2027 House of Representatives bid, appointing his younger brother, Prince Isaac Fayose, as Director-General of the campaign.

The campaign committee, inaugurated at the weekend in Ado-Ekiti, brings together politicians, community leaders, youths, women, professionals and representatives of various interest groups across Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas.

Emmanuel Fayose, who was an ADC governorship aspirant in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, and Isaac Fayose, a businessman, are younger siblings of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The candidate also appointed a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Olusola Eleka, as Patron of the campaign committee.

Other members of the campaign team include Chief Dipo Anisulowo, Team Adviser; Fadahunsi Femi, Secretary; Hon. Apanisile Tope, Team Leader and Chairman, Inter-Party Affairs; Alhaji Adeleye Mohammed, Chairman, Spiritual Matters; Comrade Akinleye Peter, Chairman, Youth Affairs; Chief Mrs. Anike Ologuntoye, Chairperson, Women Affairs; Hon. Olaolorun Richard, Chairman, Media and Publicity; Hon. Adewale Roland, Chairman, Contact Committee; and Comrade P. O. Ojo, Chairman, Trade Union Matters.

Others are Chief Dare Adekolu, Hon. Tunde Adekanbi, Hon. Obe Ilesanmi, Hon. Ogundipe, Princess Anike Ade, Hon. Ajayi Balogun, Hon. Komolafe S.K., Hon. Fagbolagun Femi, Mrs. Alake Kuburat, Hon. Bisi Agunbiade, Chief Anulopo, Hon. Adeyeye Olufemi, Hon. Tope Egunjobi and Hon. Oba Ayodeji.

Speaking on his ambition, Fayose said his decision to contest the federal constituency seat was driven by his desire to translate his political experience into effective legislative representation and deliver practical, measurable benefits to the people.

He said the ambition went beyond securing a seat in the National Assembly, describing it as a movement to return governance to the people and ensure that the constituency derived meaningful benefits from federal representation.

According to him, Ekiti is at a critical crossroads requiring bold leadership, integrity and a legislative voice capable of articulating and defending the aspirations of the people.

“This National Assembly bid is not merely a campaign for a seat; it is a movement to restore governance to the people, drive impactful policy reforms, and secure sustainable development for our constituency,” Fayose said.

He identified robust advocacy, rigorous oversight, resource attraction and citizens' inclusion as the four pillars of his proposed representation.

On advocacy, Fayose pledged to champion legislation and policies aimed at stimulating economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the livelihoods of constituents.

He also promised to exercise rigorous oversight of government agencies and ensure that public resources were deployed responsibly.

The ADC candidate said resource attraction would form another major component of his agenda, particularly through the facilitation of federal infrastructure, healthcare and other development projects to the constituency.

He further promised to establish regular town-hall meetings to enable constituents to communicate directly with their representative, make suggestions and contribute to issues that would shape his legislative positions.

Fayose maintained that genuine representation should not be determined by wealth, inheritance or political bargaining, but by service, competence, empathy and a clear understanding of governance.

“True representation cannot be bought, bartered, or inherited. It must be earned through consistent service, deep empathy, and a clear understanding of policy dynamics,” he said.

He also emphasised the importance of professional competence in legislative representation, arguing that effective lawmaking required representatives who understood policy processes and could effectively advocate for their constituents.

The candidate called on residents and stakeholders in Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas to support what he described as a new era of accountable, inclusive and development-oriented representation.

“Real change never happens by chance; it happens by choice. We must reject the stagnant politics of the past and embrace a future built on equity, accountability, and shared prosperity,” Fayose said.

Fayose Challenges Fatoba's Third-Term Bid

Fayose also used the occasion to criticise the performance of the incumbent representative for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, Hon. Sola Fatoba, who is seeking a third term in the House of Representatives.

The ADC candidate alleged that several constituency projects and empowerment initiatives attributed to Fatoba had either been abandoned or remained unexecuted despite representations made to communities where the projects were expected to be implemented.

Fayose consequently urged constituents to reject Fatoba's third-term bid, arguing that the incumbent's record over two terms did not, in his assessment, justify another term.

“After two terms in office, our people deserve to see tangible projects that directly improve their lives,” he said.

He urged voters to critically examine the incumbent's scorecard and assess the projects, programmes and interventions delivered during his tenure before making their choice in the 2027 election.

“Fatoba’s performance does not justify another term. The lawmaker has failed to deliver quality representation. He does not deserve a third term. The people of Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Governments should assess Fatoba’s record before deciding who should represent them,” Fayose said.

Fayose stressed that legislative representation should go beyond occupying a seat at the National Assembly, arguing that elected representatives had a responsibility to attract development, facilitate empowerment opportunities and remain accountable to constituents.

He said the people of Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun deserved representation capable of delivering visible and sustainable dividends of democracy.

As the campaign gets underway, the Fayose campaign team is rallying support under the slogan, “Support the Future, Support Otunba Emmanuel Fayose for Better Representation,” with the candidate presenting himself as an alternative focused on accountability, development, responsiveness and direct engagement with constituents.
