Praise Ayodele Hails Rescue of Eda-Oniyo Worshippers, Urges Sustained Fight Against Insecurity

The governorship candidate of the People's Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election and leader of the Àtúnse Èkìtì Movement, Pastor Praise Ayodele, has welcomed the successful rescue of worshippers abducted during the attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eda-Oniyo, on April 28, 2026.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Ayodele described the victims' rescue as a source of immense relief and joy for their families and the people of Ekiti State, who had continued to pray for their safe return after months in captivity.

He commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Armed Forces, the Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and other security agencies for their coordinated efforts, which culminated in the successful rescue operation.

The former PRP governorship candidate also acknowledged the support of the Ekiti State Government, noting that effective security can only be achieved through collaboration among government, security agencies, communities, and citizens.

"Our hearts are filled with gratitude to God for preserving the lives of the victims and granting them freedom after months in captivity. This is welcome news for every Ekiti citizen who has followed this painful incident with concern and prayers," Ayodele said.

While celebrating the development, he stressed that the rescue should serve as renewed impetus for authorities to intensify efforts at addressing insecurity across the state through improved intelligence gathering, community policing, rapid response mechanisms, and other proactive security measures.

Ayodele further called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the abduction, insisting that perpetrators of criminal acts must be brought to justice to deter future occurrences.

According to him, lasting peace and security are critical to economic development, agricultural productivity, investment, education, religious activities, and the overall wellbeing of residents.

He also wished the rescued victims a speedy recovery, praying for their complete healing, renewed strength, and comfort as they reunite with their families.

Ayodele reaffirmed the commitment of the Àtúnse Èkìtì Movement to advocating policies and initiatives aimed at promoting a safer, more secure, and more prosperous Ekiti State.
