Ekiti 2022: Bamisile Declares for Governor .....receives Party blessing as Omotoso promises level playing ground By Idowu Adebomi A member of the House Of Representatives, who is also an aspirant for the 2022 Ekiti gubernatorial election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Olufemi Richard Bamisile, has formally declared his interest to contest the position of the governor of Ekiti State. Unlike his counterpart Prince Dayo Adeyeye who declared on tuesday 11th january 2022 without the presence and blessings of Party Exco's, Hon. Bamisile declared his interest at the party’s Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti in a programme presided over by the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Barrister Paul Omotoso. There was heavy gridlock and vehicular movement were restricted as party leaders, hundreds of supporters turned up in their numbers to receive the aspirant. The convoy could be likened to a carnival with music blaring out of the vehicles fitted with public address system and live bands made the event a colourful one. In his speech, Hon. Femi Bamisile who was accompanied by his wife said the yearnings and aspirations of the people for good governance prompted him to join the race. While appreciating governor Kayode Fayemi for his developmental strides in different spheres of the State’s economy, Hon. Bamisile who is the Chairman, House Committee On Federal Roads Maintenance Agency,FERMA,in the House Of Representatives, said he is positioned as the best candidate to continue the good legacies and also contribute his quota to the growth of the State and wellbeing of its people On his agenda Hon. bamisile gave an insight on his leadership skills and good initiatives stood him out amongst his peers. He emphasized on Agriculture, water,hospitality, forestry and mineral resources as the tool to achieve a better society. On South agitations and alleged imposition of a candidate, Hon. Bamisile appealed to the leadership of the party to allow a popular candidate fly the party's flag. In his speech, the Ekiti State APC chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso assured Hon. Bamisile of a level playing ground for every aspirant. He remarked that the APC can boast of credible and capable aspirants among those that have formally declared. In the same vein the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Segun Dipe said APC remains the party to beat in Ekiti at the governorship election fixed for June 2022. The PRO reiterated the believe of the party in ensuring a level playing field for every aspirant. Several Leaders of the party, friends and colleagues from within and outside the state described the lawmaker as the best candidate that has what it takes to take the state to the promised land. With Hon.Olufemi Richard Bamisile joining the list of gubernatorial hopefuls, it is surely going to be a battle of the heavy weights at the primaries in the coming weeks.
